Default early 911 wtb

Well, I've finally lost my mind, I want to add to my collection, I've been collecting parts to put together a RS clone so I'm starting to look for a body. So if you have a car to sell or know of one let me know. I don't want a car that is done, I don't care about the engine, but I don't want to deal with a bunch of rust either. So any of you Rgroup guy help me out and let me in to your inner circle. Thanks Don

Don,

Do you have a specific year body are you looking for and how much do you want to spend? My guess is 72/73 MY, if so I might know of someone with a couple of 72/73complete running and decent cars but I think he wants in the area of $20 - $25k if he still has them.

I have another friend selling his `74 Carrera but that's a whole different ball game as it's a concours car and would set you back $50k.

No No No, I want to build a car not buy one the body is all I'm really looking for as far as year goes 69-73 I'll take a 72 but I'm not real fond of the oil fill door. THANK YOU any help really is good but those cars are more than I want to spend since most of the running gear will be replaced and the inside lightened.

I've got a 1970E that you might be interested in. I autocrossed it for a few years so it has steel SC flares and bigger torsion bars, Automotion adjustable sway bars and Koni shocks. It has an S steel bumper and a fiberglass ducktail. You probably don't care about the engine/trans but it has a 72T motor and the stock 901. I've dealt with most of the rust on it, but haven't given it a good look over lately. I'm still finishing up a rocker/latch panel replacement. If you want pictures, let me know what you want to see and I'll send some to you. I haven't driven it in several years, so it is time to find a new home.

you might look for a 912

also a bumper car > 1974 can have body parts added to look like an early car

you are not in the best part of the US for used 911s so expect to travel

worse, you are getting in 'late in the game' so expect to pay more and expect that most shells have already been outfitted with motors and sold - for a lot - as complete cars

Good Luck!

I have a rustfree '73 T sunroof roller that I'm likely never going to do anything with. It was my cousin's 1st project car in about 1990. RS flares perfectly butt welded. He did the paint himself, so it definitely is getting old. Probably less than 10K miles on the chassis since the conversion. Originally that yellowish-green, but he stripped EVERYTHING to re-primer it and shoot it in Grand Prix White.

I took it off his hands about 5 years ago when he needed cash for some machine tools, as he was just getting done with his 910 re-creation (check Excellence about 3 years ago for the article). He's now doing a couple of 907's.

Anyway, it has a basic cage in it now by Tony Colicchio and I built it to run in the PRC Toyo spec 911 class. But that kinda never happened. So as it sits, it's got MA shaw bumpers as I sold off the S spoiler and rear flared bumper ends. Suspension and everything are whatever I had laying around, and can easily be removed. But it's got charlie bars, 22/31 t-bars, decambered and raised struts, revalved Bilsteins, 930 brakes, 7&9 Fuchs, B&B cooler.

I did attempt to race it once in '04, but the engine I threw together at the last second glitched on me, so the one picture I'll post is basically a parade lap as I was hearing something VERY BAD about to happen!

Price? Market price, and if a guy like you wants it, I'll gladly remove all the racing parts because I can unload that stuff anytime.
