Default 5x130 to 5x114.3 lug conversion

Hey everyone,

This is purely hypothetical for just the ease of buying wheels. Nothing else.

I had thought about having some bullet hubs or hub spacers machined up with a Nissan 5 lug pattern (5x114.3) as the selection of light weight, big dish/lip rims are a lot more common here second hand, then the typical Porsche 5x130 lug pattern.

I know it’s been done before, as in the photos below. The old 911 is just running on standard Nissan Skyline rims… However It’s just for illustration purpose.

Has anyone else done this, or thought about doing this? I had some bolt on hubs made like these and they worked well on my 240sx. Opinions on taking this option?

I also had a full hub machined up about 7 years ago for a car and was thinking of using the same engineer to do a 5x114.3 to suit my car, does anyone know whether someone has already machined up a hub conversion for 911’ s yet?

I know this seem like an odd idea and not everyones taste, so if we could keep it on topic, It would be great.

Thanks,

Josh

I was going to post some ebay links but Dave showed it already.
I was also thinking about it but not sure if there is any issue with it. Also, if there is any good looking wheel, which will fit, and is any cheaper this way. Let us know if you can find good news.

Thanks so much for the link dave!

rnln, I am able to get most Japanese "racing" rims second hand suit common Japanese 5 lug pretty easy. However shipping from Australia to the USA wouldn't make it cost effective in your case.

There are a set of Works meister wheels (as seen above) that came off a wide body skyline where I am located with an offset that is close enough (im happy to play with guards and spacer width) for $2500AUD for example..

Just be aware that if you want to track the car, many organizations will not accept adapters that alter the Porsche bolt circle as safe.

Correct TT, events held under our CAMS wont allow spacers as far as I know (unless another Australian can update me?).

It’s more so just for the street. The 911 already has 17x10’s on it in the correct lug pattern and offset which I would use for motor sport events.

Rnln, they are quite the sexy rim unfortunately finding them second hand to suit 911 is way too hard and normally cant be picky with offsets, when you do find them. In an ideal world I’d just buy brand new to suit from Works Japan
