Question CIS on 2.0?

Is there any reason a stock CIS system from a 77' 2.7 wouldn't work on a 2.0. It seems to me that the system would just never reach its full capacity. I realize that the intake ports on the heads would need to be modified to provide clearance for the injectors. I think I may have to figure out alternative mounting for the throttle linkage pivot plate (on top of the case). Would the fuel required to keep a 2.0 running be too far off to be solved with just an adjustment of the system pressure? Would the injectors work properly if I did that? Would I be able to run 964 grind cams? And if I do that, would the heads need to be machined for larger valves? Anything else you guys can think of? This setup would be going into my 69T.

I would think that since the CIS is suseptible to backpressure in the induction ( the reason for the small clearance between the pistons and valves) that the stock pistons wouldn't work very well with the CIS.
