head temperature sensor question

Hi Guys.
I was checking my head temperature sensor and found that the sensor connector has two female terminals while the connector (white) on the engine harness has only one male terminal on the top. The bottom terminal is missing a male terminal. It doesn't look as though the terminal had fallen off the connector. There is no trace of metal on the connector. The connector in the Bentley manual shows two male terminals.
I call another porsche buddy and he has a sensor with 2 female sockets and the connector on the engine has a 2 terminal connector. The dealership thinks someone has modified it. What is correct? Can someone please check their head temperature sensor on the left side of th engine? I have a 1987 - 911 carrera.
thanks for your help.

you know there are older one wire sensors?
But you're saying the connector on the tree is somehow different than your friends?
you want someone to check the engine side and count prongs?
New cht sensors will have two prongs
and the ref sensors have three.

Hi Brinkley,
that is correct.
My CHT connector plugh has two female fittings that is plugged into a one male connector harness which is attached to the engine. You have to unplug it to see it.
What is yours like since we have the same model and year?
thanks for your help. Much appreciate it.

Pelican lists 1 PN for 84-89, FWIW.

I've replaced mine also; I thought it was a white connector up by the fuel filter or something froim memory... I think there were other connectors that looked the same also & I need to make sure I only disconnected that one. Again, from memory.
They do also show a secondary picture...

I replaced mine; the original sensor was a one-wire and the Pelican replacement was the correct uopdated two-wire; my puzzlement was that the engine harness had two pins all along as though it was ready for the upgrade.
