I decided to go with Delvac 1 75w90. It's available from www.lufteknic.com.

Thanks Charles and everyone else. I'm gonna feel a lot better when the Delvac is in my tranny and the Swapco 306 is in my engine
Glad you figured it out. I'm not sure if Delvac has LSD friction modifiers in it already, but if not then add some.

220 on your options sticker means you car came from the factory w/ LSD, nice! So you do have it unless of course the tranny has been swapped out but that's unlikely. The same goes for the 951, 220 by itself means LSD. I have 2 Porsche books, "Original Porsche 911" and "Original Porsche 924/944/968," both by Peter Morgan, and these books and other places I've seen options lists put "M" designations in front of all the 3-digit option code, but just the number is on the sticker for whatever reason.

Chris's recommendation about adding LSD additive to the trans is right on the money. I used Kendall gear oil at the shop, it was so good for bearings & synchros in the '86 and earlier cars, and we added a small bottle of additive (also by Kendall) in all of the cars with LSD.

From what Charles said, it is the factory fill from Porsche
on the GT2, GT3, Carrera GT, and Turbo, as well as the full blown race cars.

I learned with my BMW to not always follow the manufacturer's recommendations! But, it sounds like Charles has proven experience with it. Since he tests oils, I have to trust what he says.

Btw, I really like your car. An 87 Cabriolet (like mine) and you have an awesome color. Very nice.
