Post Importing Vs Conversion

I'm considering either importing a 911 from the UK (LHD) as the prices are siginifcantly lower - has anyone done this ?...any big problems or advice ?....approx cost ?

Scecondly if the above is a "no go" then I'm considering a C2 conversion - any advice / cost or recommended people in the Oregon area ?

Thanks in advance

I investigated that possibility on an F-car the shipping by plane 4-5K or 1-2K by boat, duties 2.5% up to there everything is great then you have to federalize the car to meet DOT specs this ranges from 5-15K must be done by some fed-authorized place they are few and hence the lock on the price, VAT is refundable if you have to pay it(like in germany). If it's a track-only car then go for it since you don't have to worry about it. Some people worry about resale value of such a car.

Hope it helps
