Question headlights

I have a 1988 cab. I would like to replace/upgrade the headlights. Can H-4s be used or am I limited to H-5s? Are H-4s significantly better, or will h-5s with 80/100 bulbs do the trick?

Thanks,

Lew

Lew,

There is a recent post exactly on this topic (within the last month).

According to the concensus, H4's are better lighting. You will need to add an adapter kit or risk shorting out some of your electronics when you switch to high beams.

There is also the extra expense of having the rings primed and painted (or you can go with the chrome rings-no painting).
