Question Thermal reactors???

All this talk on the 2.7 thread about how bad thermal reactors are/were, has got me worried.

Are these them????

Nope,...those are the aftermarket replacement headers of that era.

Nothing to worry about.

The thremal reactors looked a lot like that large spacecraft in the Startrek movie "The Voyage Home" that was trying to communicate with the whales.

There were so many companies building replacements that the quality went from terrible to very good. Generally, the bad ones crack in the 3 into 1 joint area. Just keep an ear for leakage, and, as Steve said, don't worry about them. (Cheapo headers usually have crummy flanges, your flanges actually look pretty good...)

Use a nut splitter and lots of heat if you ever plan on replacing them.
