...do it!
I did it for the first time today and it was actually a lot of fun! I managed to get it done without making too much of an oily mess out of my car, garage, or self....
Make sure to find a good reference (like 101 Projects, or one of the articles posted on here), get all your parts/tools ready ahead of time (don't forget that you need TWO gaskets), and give yourself plenty of time get everything done right without having to rush.
The only thing that caught me off guard was how fast the oil drains out of the tank! Make sure your drain pan is BIG!
Taking her for a drive afterwards was even more fun after our "bonding experience"....

Here's another tip for the new owner...
Make sure the oil catch pan is a WIDE MOUTH design, & not the kind that has the full top & just a small hole in the middle. The tank will drain WOOOSH & splash over the top faster than the small hole can keep up with. Ask me how I know.![ooops](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon501.gif)
Also make sure you have new crush washers too. 1st item bought for the 911 was a 10 pack of Mahle filters w/ washers.

Found this to be very helpful when removing the tank drain bolt. I just used it for the last few threads to keep from burning my hand (old guy, slow moving):

Wide and deep. I overfilled my regular oil collection pan the 1st time and made a good sized mess in the driveway..
