I have a 75 Carrera with Koni struts for which I ordered koni inserts (not sure of p/n) a few years ago. Now that I am driving it, they seem to be too soft. They are clearly not externally adjustable, but sheet in box only shows the external adjustment even though box says 'adjustable'. Do I need to remove them and turn shaft, etc to adjust, or are they non-adjustables?
The Koni's on my 88 Carrera are adjustable. The fronts are adjusted using a **** on the top of the shock inside the trunk where they come through the shock tower. The rears are adjustable also, but have to be removed. After removal, I have to remove the outer sleeve and push in on a button on the shock. I think there are three settings on the rear.
I don't recall seeing the Koni Reds with any adjustment...
The well known Koni Yellows work as Spider 911 described, above...
Or, the Rear Shocks can be adjusted by dismounting the lower portion, fully compressing the shock, and turning the lower portion clockwise to stiffen and counterclockwise to soften... IIRC!
Seems like I had to remove the Bump Stop from the upper tube b4 I could fully compress the shock??? Does anyone else recall this?
