Default My thoughts on the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

Well, as I posted a week ago, the car recently got new tires. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

I had a week to break them in before the first Autocross session with new tires. I drove the car as much as I could.
My impression of these tires is...not all that great, really. They're a little like driving on butter. Not exactly slippery, but not very grippy, either. The 10 year old Michelin Pilot something's I had seemed to have much more grip, right up untill the point where they suddenly let loose.
The Goodyears howled a lot, and although they never actually let loose enough to spin, I could feel the four-wheel drift around hard corners or slaloms.

It was an unsettling feeling.

There are four in-car videos posted. You can hear how much howling they did. It got worse as the day went on. Oh..and the understeeer!

I tried 1 and 4 and got no sound but what a great ride. I would need more cones and would probebly run a fiew down. I have Toyo Proxes4 and don't often hear any sound from them. If I hit the white line at twice the posted speed, ya some churpin', but mostly it's just the engine singing.

that autocross looks fun. I'd kill myself too quikly that way.

Put some sumitomos on and call it a day...280 bucks for the set on tire rack....predictable grip and soft as hell. HTR-z's. Im running on all four corners...fantastic tires for the price.
