Default QUARTER LIGHTS (VENT WINDOWS) QUESTION

The AC of my '84 Targa has died. I am considering replacing the entire system but got to thinking about earlier 911's with vent windows that pivoted. It looks like an easy change-over(remove-replace;I hope). Can someone tell me which model years have black metal surfaces rather than chrome plated?

My 76 has black opening ones. If your car was made with fixed 1/4s will it have the plate in the 'c' pillar that the opening mechanism screws to? 3 screws per side.

Sorry James,
I thought you meant the rear ones that's why I made reference to the "c" pillar. Mine has fixed front ones but I'm sure you'll be able to get black front window frames. They only go round the front and bottom of the glass and they pivot in a clamping arrangement at the bottom and from the rubber seal at the top.
Try the wanted to buy thread as a lot of people change from opening to fixed as an "update"
Second hand chrome frames sanded and painted black might be an option.

Sorry for the confusion.
