"Grant, maybe it was $42K at the show, so maybe you did get a good deal."
Well, I paid even a bit more than that delivered to me, so I don't know if it's a good deal, but I love it and it's the only one like it, so it's hard to put a value on it. I know it took the guy 2 years to restore on a rotisserie and build. All the engine, MFI, tranny, and suspension are fresh (using finest parts and craftsmanship available) - only 5k miles (mostly from delivery to Denver from Montreal via Tampa). BTW, it's on the rennlist classifieds (all porsches/racing&track cars)for $49k...

Sweet 911. I would love to eventually turn mine into a superlightweight track machine, although I would like to do the widebody RSR conversion. Have you had it on the track yet? I am sure you are quite aware of the fantastic power to weight ratio of your new 911. Just some numbers to drool over: The power to weight ratio of your car is better than the 996 twin turbo 7.875 vs. 8.18. Some others to compare: 959 - 7.09, and 996 GT2 6.96. These are all listed at the end of the PCA rule book. Here's the link if any of you want to peruse through the classes. http://www.pca.org/pca/clubrace/docs/pca_rules_2003.pdf
Congratulations on your purchase. You will have to let us know what its like after you get it on the track...

Jack - I know the guy that built it (only owner)- he just spent the last week with me in Denver while we worked out the deal. Well, before that it was a California rust-free 73T and then was moved to Nebraska a few years ago before all the work was done. The builder, Pierre from Montreal, has won several Concours and does restoration of classic cars as a business (mostly British and Porsche). He built this car for himself as a track car but then couldn't bring himself to use it that way since it's so nice. The detail work is really impressive - it's really built for performace but with alot of style too...

That hose attaches to an electric heating element to lean the mixture after warming (no heat exchangers with the racing headers).

Jack - Motor was built by Jack Refenning in Florida and is based on 7R case (real 2.7L mag case) with RS pistons & cylinders. Head was fly-cut for 9.5:1 CR and MFI was rebuilt. Suspension is Bilstein coilovers (don't know spring rates and valving but it's really firm). All Charlie bars, spring plates. Teflon bushings with grease fittings in front A-arms. Late 911 steering rack. Chassis reinforced at coilover mounting points. Can't think of anything else now. Any specific questions?
It has a standard Alu. 915 box (rebuilt), but I'm considering Wevo and Guard low gears (2-5) and 40% LSD (maybe pump and cooler too).
