Default Badge Mounting Position

I found an old post from Pete Z about how to remove the A/C condenser to mount a PCA membership badge, but what is the proper position on the grill for the first badge mounted, second, etc.? I jut don't want to look like a geek.

I never understood why anyone (not just p-car folks) would want to block off the airflow to cool the engine.

Dennis: We used to contemplate grille badges at the shop. It seems as though I remember we liked them best when installed in the middle of the right half of the grille (for a single badge), or one badge in the middle of each grille half (two badges). I wouldn't use more than two. You don't see badges very much anymore, but I think that's primarily because they are too hard to install on cars with A/C! They were easy on 356s...

The "Police Interceptor" badge on my grille did not block the airflow as far as I know

Thanks, Pete. I'm going to try
1) Laying a towel over the engine
2) Sticking a mounting nut to a bent strip of metal covered with Duct Tape
3) Slipping it under the grille between grille and condenser
4) Catching the nut with the screw and tighten
It has to be simpler than removing the condender.
Will hopefully post a photo of success.

I have to say that the badge installation took 5 minutes...dropped the nutted screw down past the grille, pull up on badge to hold nut still, tighten screw. I think it looks elegant. Thanks for the position tip, Pete.

Whats with all the hate on PCA? Have not seen it here, but I have seen a few posts over at Pelican that talk down about PCA.

Badge looks great I think I'll try one too. What other badge options are there besides the PCA one? did you order the PCA badge from the PCA site?

I got the badge from the PCA site. I heard some down talking about PCA in Excellence, such that PCA would not specifically name "that other magazine" when it was referred to at all. I found my car on the PCA Mart, have always gotten responses to my tech questions in PCA Tech Q & A although it takes awhile, and my local Alaska Region PCA folks are quite helpful although due to distance I have not met one yet! I like some of the factory and race news and speculation I get from Panorama. Porsches can sure go to people's heads. It'd be nice if we could all remember that they're cars.

I had a PCA badge on my other car and my regions badge "SVR". (That could have been my post with Pete that you read originally). I like them and I like PCA and my local club. We have lots of fun events.

Looks great!
