Cool 993 C4S Clutch Slip?

This is a question for you 993 C4S owners. I recently bought a '97 993 C4S (37k miles). When shifting at high RPM, the engine stays at the same RPM level after the clutch is released and then drops. It only hangs at the higher RPM for a second or two. Is this normal?

I've driven clutches for 30 years and this hang time seems strange. Anyone else notice it? Is there any adjustment possible in the linkage? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yessir,....thats characteristic of OBD-II cars and the 993 very heavy (38 lbs) dual-mass flywheel.

At 37K, your clutch should be fine.

Thanks Steve. That explains it. I tested the clutch using low RPM and 4th gear. You were right, the clutch held just find.
