BC lister needs 911 looked at in Toronto... help!
Being on Vancouver Island, Toronto is a bit of a distance to travel to check out a car, so I'd like to enlist the services of an early-911 expert to look at a car out there for me.
I just noticed it in the Auto Trader (online) and the price seems too good to be true. It's a 1971 911T for the low-low price of $7300 CDN. Here's the link: http://www.trader.ca/SendToFriend/Results.asp?id=222474&adid=2253873 The owner's phone number is listed as: (416)590-0508 .
If anyone out there would like to check it out (or if the present owner is reading this), get back to me, I'd quite appreciate it! I'm at dmanchip@telus.net .
Cheers!

Hi,
I'm in Toronto and if the owner calls me back I'll try and check it out for you. I don't know much about that era of 911's except that rust was a major factor and that original engine and trans would be preferrable to a transplant.
Cheers,
Alex J.

Hey exc911ence,
The owner called me at work, the car has 84k miles, it is running but not certified. He does not know the history of the car (how many previous owners), however it has been in storage since 1994 (not driven at all). It has a new interior and has been repainted. The motor has good compression but the Webber carbs need tuning. The hood has some rust bubbles? or chips? I may go to see it on Sunday afternoon if I have time. Let me know if you want to pursue this further.
Ciao,
Alex J.
