Post Disconnect airbag?

Are there any problems/risks with disconnecting the passenger airbag on a '90 C2. I found a company that sells a kit (apparently just the information needed to do the job) for $120 plus they offer technical support to complete the job if needed.
I've found a clean C2 but my kids (all under 12) will ride in it and I want to make sure they are safe.
Thanks ahead of time for your help.

John,

You might also ask your question over on the 964 list. I wonder if Porsche may have came out with a process/kit to enable turning off the passenger side air bag? As I recall (not being a 964 owner) disconnecting it is straight forward, but you do need to jumper something to tell the computer everything's OK.

Bill,

Thanks for the reply. I'll try the 964 board as well. I'll contact local Porsche dealers and see if there is a known fix.

Thanks again.

Hi, from what i remember, in the diagnosis connector, located near the drivers door (a round shaped connector) it was possible to fit a jumper wire and this would disable the passenger air bag so as to make it safe to use a baby capsule in the front seat.
Check with your dealer.
Saint.
