1975 silver Anniversary #'s
I am trying to track down and confirm the Numbering sequence for the 1975 911S Silver Anniversary Porsches..
Going just from a poor memory, IIRC, there were 750 SA's imported.
Did the Dash Plaque Numbers tie back to the actual Car Serial Numbers in any fashion? For example, if a Car had the 442 Dash Plaque, was the Chassis Number ending in 442? Or no connection there at all?
Also, wasn't the Dash plaque centered on the glove box door from the factory? I have seen some that have had the Plaques moved to various locations, and am wondering if these are "SA Wannabe's" ??? Did the Plaques tend to fall off over time? (Like, the glue melted or something?)
Finally, I recall (having actually owned one brand new), that they all came with the ATS "Cookie Cutter" wheels painted Body Color; i.e. Diamond Silver metallic, but several have shown up wearing the period Fuchs, and maybe those were an option? Also, I think all were to have Fog Lamps, but some seem to have lost theirs along the path of Porsche life...
Comments welcome...
