Post Acceleration problems

Can anyone help? I have a friend in Korea who is in need of some 911 assistance...here is his problem:

His 911 will:
- not accelerate over 3000 rpm's
- put out black smoke after 3000 rpm's during acceleration
- nearly no acceleration up a hill
- below 3000 rpm's, everything is fine

Can anyone help my international Porschephile? Thanks,
Roy

Sounds like it is running way too rich. He needs to check the CO and possibly the 02 sensor.

You don't say which year the car is??

Do a forum search on Head Temp Sensor - It's a simple check to find out if it's the original single wire version. If so, recommend it to be replaced with the newer twin wire version - even if it's not the cause it's a good update to have done. The single wire version earths through the thread conection and can corrode.
