Hey, I've been shopping for an early 911 and after test driving a few I noticed that there is less leg room in a Targa especially on left side(clutch side). Is this true or am I crazy? If so, why?

You are not crazy. The foot box is smaller!

The Targa body has some additional stiffening members in the foot wells to help control body flex since you do not have the roof pinning the two sides of the car together.
