As far as I know that line is still available. Most of the cars that I've seen w/ the update, and for sure all the ones we've done, have the longer oil line that you mention. But of course you'll always get previously unknown cars in that have all kinds of goofy stuff such as the pressure sender block w/a cheesy plug in it . . .

Thats a good one! If anyone is following the Longhood market, '73 T's in average to good condition are bringing those prices! A mint condition low miles "E" is going for $57K and UP! Way, way UP! "S" cars are already into the 6 digits!

It was ground up restored 6 years ago including engine then maintained at high level, only chalenge I have thatg I know of, is the front spoiler isnt original, and also the paint he changed from silver to mercedes mettalic grey.....apparently he and his wife loved that colour. Ill get some pics up here leter today. Am a member of pca, I guess not knowing what to look for, Id like an acknowledged expert to go ove rith woth fine toothe comb as far as originality and condition...any suggestions on that one. ?

I think that the receipts you really want to have are for reconditioning the MFI pump and throttle bodies, as well as the re-paint. Yes, the color change, although not drastic like black to red, will hurt the value somewhat. What is most important is if the paint was done to a high standard. Is the front trunk (under the carpets), the underside of the engine and trunk lids, and the door posts/jambs all properly re-finished in the new exterior color? Regarding having the vehicle reviewed, you should go to PCA's website and contact members located close to you. Ask lot's of questions about their background, you want someone who has day to day experience with your year/model car!

Id love to go.
DO you guys have your car trailered up to COlorado and drive it from their ?...I cant see myself driving from FLorida, both time and distance, also the idea that I have no mechanical aptitude, so breakdowns are a concern for me

- The "value" is strongly influenced by whether you are 'following' the market as a buyer, or successful seller, or wanna-be seller... If you can get over $30k for a T let me know. I have one to sell in that case.
Probably best to talk to PCA folks in FL to find an expert. You might try to find 3 experts. Pay the first 2 and if they differ much, hire the 3rd as a tie-breaker.

A Silver 1973.5 "T" with 45k miles on it and in very good appearing condition, sold last year on evilbay for $47.5K... and it was in your neck of the woods... Portland, IIRC...
An Aubergine 1973 MFI "T" with 140K on the clock, and in just fair condition, sold for $35k in IL just recently...
Another Silver 1973 MFI "T" , repainted (to a high standard), and with some bumper mods, just sold last month in FL for $42.5K...
A fellow on the Early 911 Registry tracks all early 911 Sales from eBay, and is seeing consistently $30K plus for the decent "T"s, and state your price if it is an "E" or an "S"///well north of $50K is no problem... Europeans are buying all that they can get their hands on, which is driving the scarcity factor right now. I tried to buy a very nice (but "restored") 1972 "T" for $21,500.00 earlier this year. Thought we had a deal, until the Owner discovered what the car was really worth... I believe it went to CA for a LOT more money than I would pay...

Yes I tend to agree...I have gone head on into this myself, comsuming everything I can..
The cars that are rough are all ove rthe place, but I have seen a restored targa on ebay right now for 125k..and its a T, nice history, but.....also most driver t and e an s models seem to be in the 20+ mark that is the ones that are decent drivers, immaculate cars are now much more.....

Yes, condition is important. The more technically accurate and properly finished the car is the more value it will have. We are very lucky to have many price guides to use to begin to understand why a 2.2L "S" has begun to reach previously unheard of price levels. In one way it's exciting, in another, confusing. David Kinney (Cars That Matter) really pegs it with his 4-step rating system, which might be too simplified, but it works. His Jan-April '07 edition pegs a 2.2S coupe as low as $12,400 for a #4 car (a fair daily driver that, if restored, would need just about everything done). David puts a #1 car (a car that's groomed to the tire treads) at $39,900. I think that this very current price guide is already outdated! By the way, he adds about $4K for a #1 Targa, and an additional 10% for a 5-speed manual in all models. Ts from the same period don't lag far behind, ranging in value from $11,100 (#4 coupe) to $36,900 (#1 coupe). Whew!
