What year did they start galvanizing bodies....and did it change from just a dip to something different?

1977 is the first year of fully galvanized 911 Porsches for the US.

I've heard some 1976 models may have also received this treatment, but no one seemed to know how to identify which '76 serial numbers were the first to get it.
