hello, new to the board. Just got some crusty old S aluminum calipers. I need some stainless pistons and parts to rebuild. Does anyone have a reasonable source for parts and advice? It would be appreciated.
Thanks,
john Brasfield

Hello
AFIK the stainless steel pistons are for race use only. They will never work like the original pistons.
Rebuilding S Calipers to original specs is very expensive.
Geting the repair get is easy, even Porsche has them.

I ordered all of the repair/rebuild parts (including SS pistons) from Stoddard. www.stoddard.com
I actually still haven't rebuilt the calipers on my "E", because they don't need it at this point. So I'm hanging onto the parts for when they do.
Stoddard also has (or used to) a rebuild/exchange service as well, if you don't want to do the work yourself.
