Default New member intro

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 9 year owner of a 1989 Silver Anniversary Carrera 3.2, suspension mods, track headers... you know, the whole upgrade/tinkering bug.

Have been on Pelican for a while and wanted to expand my exposure to Porsche forums.

By the way, does anyone know how to downsize pics? My lowest resolution is 500KB per pic. I really want to use my car as the avatar.

Thanks and I look forward to all your help!

Brian

here is what I do for pictures....I'm sure it is all wrong. I stand way back, set my resolution on my 6.1 megapix down to .8 and shoot a wide shot. then put it on the dock and crop the crap out of it in kodak. I think 137k is all you are allowed. about the size of your thumb. nice choice of cars. I got the books after I decided what car I was looking for and so far I was correct....I have a stock '88 cabrio carrera. welcome home. pelican who?

I would love to see a pic of your car. The 89 Silver Anniversary edition is a great car. You can email the photo to me and I can covert to an avatar for you. Thats my car in the avatar.

If your computer can retrieve photos from a digital camera it must have some
type of digital photo software in it. Image size reduction is usually included in
these programs and is easy to use. Check it out!

Welcome aboard!!!

I download 'irfanview' at their web site. It's free and I use the resize/resample to downsize mine.

Hope this helps.

Welcome and +1 for irfanview. 1. Associate jpg with irfanview. 2. double click on photo which will open irfanview. 3. hit Crtl+R which will bring up your resize window. 4. choose someting like 800x600. 5. Save As and choose compression of around 70% on the slider. This should give you a good quality pic of around 100-120k. Hope this helps.
Dave.
