Anyone had any luck dyeing older sun faded out carpet and if so what did you use?

I recall seeing a thread re: brushing on Rit dye.

I'll be trying it soon and posting a write up.

Wow that is absolutely amazing ... i want to redie my faded cork interior carpets but thought it could not be done.. that is simply fantastic .. is the cork availble or did you have to mix to get it ? I am a dunce when i come to art .. I have no eye for colour .

Sorry for the late response. I've been traveling. Cork is an available color, however, all cork colors are not the same. I purchased the dye that was described as cork. Then, after I bought my new mats, I blended some regular brown dye into the cork to get just the right shade. I decided to dye both the carpet and my new mats so they would match. If your existing mats are in good shape, I would dye both the carpet and your old mats then you will have a perfect match. If the cork you purchase is close to the original, I wouldn't blend anything; I'd just dye the entire interior.
