hey Ed where you at with the rebuild, still waiting for the case to come back ? PS took a chunk of metal out of the oil tank on the weekend after changing my oil after my missed shift.. . About 1mm * 2mm ....hmmmmm

Where did it come from Ice?
Is that small enough to go through the screen on the oil pump?
check it with a magnet to see if it's steel or alumium.
What do you think it is off? The oil pump gear drive?

Sure it wasn't there all along??

Well I am prettty **** about checking my oil magnet and it was not there previously. I will see if I can get a pic and post it . It looks cast alum. but I will check it with a magnet to see what metal it is.

not sure what size the screen is but I think so .

The good news is, that it seemingly traveled harmlessley thru the motor to the tank? I had three of the valve adjuster locknuts spin off when I bent my valves. This is a common side effect. The good news for me is I found all three in the camtowers, but one was scrunched up a bit. I'm guessing it got hammered by a rocker or something, but I had no scars indicating any damage to cam lobes or anything.

While "someone up there" throws us a curve occasionally, to cause us to learn and improve, he does look out for us after all!
