Default 1980 SC: engine & tranny install

1980 sc -- Question: when you install engine-tranny does the trans mounting bracket come out? I'm having a problem with the getting the tranny with the 4- studs over the tranny - brace/mount and the tranny shift rod into the cabin access hole.

Seems it would be so easy if I removed the tranny mounting bracket??

I did a search, no info obtained, any help appreciated.

Yes, remove the mount, pre bolt the mount onto the tranny, then install. You gotta kind of angle the tranny upwards and slide it in, hook up the shift rod to the coupler, then put the two big bolts into the tranny mounts and into the tub. Then push the engine up and put the bolts into the engine crossbar. Good luck!

James is right. In addition I leave the four nuts that attach the transaxle mount a bit loose. This makes it easier to align the large mount bolts to the body. Of course retighten after install.
