It might be the picture but I don't like the way the coupe "sits"...too low in the back IMHO...compare to the same car posted by Jay...Jay's car sits beatifully!

I'd go Targa...or have some patience if what you want is a coupe...

Thanks again for the compliments Pedro!

The Ruby Red car I posted is my brother's SC. That car is sitting at US ride height specs in this pic. It's since received a full suspension rebuild down to the torsion bars and has been dropped to Euro specs and looks a bit better if you like the lower ride height look. It's not nearly as low as the coupe that is in question on this thread, even with the lowering to Euro spec.

Drew, I agree, your Ruby Red car looks fantastic. It's a great color for 1983 and 1984 cars!!

bought the ruby red one. Drove it 400 miles runs great trans great. needs shocks.I will tell more later. what width rim and tire can fit under an 84 carrera. It is low in the back and I will have to raise it back up.

Its all in what you want to use the car for. If you're looking to go to track days or for the best handling, go for the coupe. If you're looking for a car to cruise in on sunny days, go for the Targa. I decided on the coupe when I purchased because I like to corner hard and comparing the 2 I would say the Targa has noticably more flex when cornerning. However, there are aftermarket products you can buy to dial out some of the Targa's flexing. I must admit, I know the purplish/red color you're referring to and I hate to say that I don't like it. I'm sure you'll have a blast no matter which one you choose, good luck!

The coupe looks mean, the targa looks, well like a chic car. Let the yelling begin!

Congrats. The targa needed a tail and you can't close a targa on the highway if your phone rings or it starts to rain.

I do wish the sunroofs were larger, and I love taking the top off occasionally. Clearly a difficult choice.

By the way, how can we contact the targa seller?

I think the targa shape looks better without the big carrera tail, I had a duck on my 87 targa which I liked the best but thats all just personal taste.
