I used to use Interstates, but due to the acid from them , I went with an Optima Red Top. It has been very reliable and always starts first time. I suggest you have your system checked out to ensure the alternator is working correctly. Too much voltage or not enough will cook a battery.

be very careful giving me credit for the purchase. one of our fellow rennmen purchases a nice 911 that now needs a clutch. may be my falt.

I'd go with a AGM battery since you are replacing anyway.

I went with a Braille Racing, but their new heavy duty one. It's approximately the same size as the battery in my Miata, weighs only 21 lbs, great cranking power (much better than Odyssey PC680). The Odyssey is 6 lbs lighter, but I don't want to get stranded anywhere on a dark night. Cost was $200 with a 2 yr warranty.
