PCA had a Tech Ed session today at MaxRPM not too far from here. They offered reduced priced dyno runs, so I bit since I haven't done this car.
Wondering what others are getting from similar cars. '85 Carrera, stock engine.
I'm told these numbers are pretty good, although I'm running a tad bit lean they said. 202hp at the wheels. on it's third run.
One other person there had an '86 and pulled about 197-198hp.
There was a newer Twin Turbo that apparently pulled about 700hp...
Here's the scan from my car.

Not bad Wolfe which car are you driving more? the 924s or the taildragger?
My S2 puts out as much torque as your car to the wheels!

Mostly driving the 924S, since I don't like having to play car-hockey to get the 911 out of the garage. It's a real pain in the ***.
Besides..I just broke 120,000 miles in the 924S. The 911 still hasn't cracked 40,000.

Here's what it says about the '85 MY.
207DIN @5900rmp
202SAE @ 5900rpm
192 ft-lb DIN
185 ft-lb SAE
Now...On Porsche's Website, it states that it should be 231. If we assume thy measure at the flywheel, which I have been told, @15% transmission loss, those numbers would be almost right on par.

Personaly I like to see RPM on dyno sheets, but that is a damn nice set of lines, you can tell bad tuning when they are all jittery. Porsches HP claims have always been, MINIMUM. So when it says 202HP, it means thats the minimum it will put out, they are usually always higher by 10% give or take.
Now you have a baseline, its time to add a chip and bypass and head back!
I'm off to the Dyno with my 2006 GLI as soon as the turbo back and intake are on, that and the software should put down around 260HP and 290TQ at the front wheels! not bad for a 2.0 4cyl with software and 2 bolt ons!

Got three cars here now. White van is still here, rotting away. He's got two cars that never move.
