Just started having a funny thing start happening with my car. I have a 1969 911T. When I turn the key to start the car, nothing happens the first time. But, if I turn the key back quickly and then quickly try to start it again, it turn over normally. This happens consistently now. Any advise? Is this just the switch or something bigger?

Quite possible that the switch is failing. Usually a lot of "slop" develops in the tumbler when the switch goes bad, if your switch feels loose when you turn the key I would guess that the chance of a bad switch is about 90%.

Does it on my 84 also, along with the key-binding, both independent & on occasion only. The electrical side of the switch is pretty cheap on mine (sub $100 from memory), with the complete lock / switch setup being $400+ from memory.
