Default 1974 934 DIY???

I just want to pick the brains of those in the "know"

I would like to research the reality of building a fun N/A 934 "look" Porsche. I love the raw look of that car and have thought that it may be a car that I could do as a project with my 14 year old son over a few years time.

I would look for a 3.2L car as a starting point, or maybe an SC car. I have seen a few companies that offer what looks to be a fairly complete body kits. Though I am sure there is still a good deal of work to be done there.

I would want to do a moderate build on the engine, my first thoughts are near 300HP from maybe a 3.8L stroker.

I am being very general in the hopes that you can offer me some details and sources that I can further research. Maybe there are better ways to get to my look and performance goals and I am very open to hear what you have to say.

Thanks!!

I would start with a 77 car for the weight reduction, add hp and flares to suit you.

Ever considered adopting a 43 year old father of 2 to help with this project?

That is a neat idea.
Anyone know how much of a turbo body needs to be cut-up/trimmed?

Can anyone with some P-car smarts suggest a good starting car for such a (long term) project? My first thought was an early 3.2L car due to some of the refinements that went into them.

But I just wanted to double check with those "in the know"

Thanks!!!

I think a 74-77 is your best bet, if you can find a roller someone has already done body on even better. If I was going to build one I would want a turbo motor my 2 cents.

I would love a turbo motor, but that ups the cost a lot. But don't think I won't look into it.

Would you be interested in my project? I have a 74 sunroof coupe, a 3.2l intercooled turbo and a steel body kit that has to be installed. The engine came from Henry at Class Action in CA. He is now supertecperformance. the engine is not in the car and the steel body kit is not installed.
I am in south jersey.GeeBee
