engine harness identification need help

engine harness identification need help
I will be ready soon to put back the engine but when i took it out the i had some cut wires or unused wires with terminals on my harness and i wondered what they were for , can someone help me ?
p.s. engine was running
1- unused two wires inside rubber cover
2- cut grey and red wire
3- black and purple with terminal unused
4- two grey and red wires with terminals unused

i'll assume that your engine started life with Zenith 40 TIN carbs...
Your #1: Probably used for a temp switch that is no longer needed.
Your #2: Probably for the decel control micro switch that is no longer needed.
Your #3: Black/purple is normally used for the tachometer circuit. You'll have to trace that one with a VOM.
Your #4: Run a continuity check to see if those are the same circuit as the two cut wires for your #2.

Hey Pete i have another question about the harness. I have a blue and yellow wire with a small loop terminal near the coil and on the schematic i don't see a blue wire going there. I checked that wire with and ohm meter and it goes to pin 10 of the engine harness plug. On the schematic we don't see that plug. Do you have an idea about this wire ?
