Default 915 Transmission costs -question

I lost 3rd gear during the road atlanta club race. Turns out that i chewed the 3rd gear synchro. How much should it cost to replace it?

Thanks

Impossible to guess without knowing the history of the trans; how many events that it's done since the last repair, other symptoms, etc. There are many internal issues to deal with, especially in a race box. It all depends how thorough you want to be.

Sorry about the transmission.
Remove the engine/tranny yourself--I recommend you learn how if your going to race a 911. If you don't know how --go to http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...ine_drop-1.htm
There is all the info you need to know.
Send the trans to Gairy Fairbanks ph. 203-866-2466
I just had him rebuild my 915 from my 79 911 SC that I race.
I had 3 Race seasons on the tranny and third gear was starting to grind.
Cost was $975.00 plus $85.00 shipping each way.
If you have never used him he will probably want to send you a box to ship the tranny to him in.

Thanks Doug. We actually briefly met at Road Atlanta. Going to Mid Ohio? This pelicanparts reference is awesome. Now i understand what is involved.

See you soon.
