being the owner of a 78 myself I too thought it a shame .. but as I red here before , there are not many things more expensive than a cheap porsche ... especially one with no engine..

engine lid are much less than perfect. It would make a great project for a
wealthy buyer looking for one. They would be seriously upside down though.

I would only consider it for a parts car.
Front and rear seats don't look too bad. Top could be refinished. Anyone priced a targa top lately?
Also, I think that targa glass is fairly expensive as well. I'd say $1500 seems fair. Also, there are some small parts for these cars that aren't available anymore.
