I have an 87 cab that has a leak(big shock) my mechanic replaced the top seal for the princly sum of $198 + labor and it still didn't fix the leak.(he claimed at the time that the top seal is the problem 90% of the time! Anyway I have purchased the side seals and was wondering if anyone else has done this? Or should I have someone else install? If so, what adhesive did you use? This seems like a common problem, but unless I'm a total loser, I could not find any other useful discussions. Thanks,
Craig
Hey bugeater and kubcat,
I replaced the top of the window to roof seal last summer and it required no sealant as far as I could tell because it was held down with a bracket that was screwed into the frame. The side seals on my '87 cab seem to come out quite easily (although not yet replaced) and I don't think they glue in, they seem to have a pretty good friction fit. I will stand corrected if others have had different results.
