I just bought an M&K single in single out yesterday. Ben told me they were a little behind and that it would not ship until later next week. I am like a kid waitng for Christmas! I would like to hear from people that have the M&K single in single w/o bypass or premuffler and see what the have to say about the sound. I also have a SW chip, so if anyone has that combo, did you notice any performance improvement with the addition of the muffler?

Thanks, but I talked to Steve and he said it would be fine. In fact the chip I orderd (below) is set to be use in a stock system or with a sport muffler.
87 911 24 pin stock
stock engine configurations or with a sport muffler, 87 Carrera with 24 pin chip.

After adding the M&K 1 in 1 out to my 78SC, the car was transformed from a quiet car to one with a raspy ripped sounding hot rod!! Love the sound, best upgrade I have made. I do have a cat by-pass pipe.

The sound is the best part of the M&K muffler!! I didn't notice any real performance improvement, but it sure sounded like it had a lot more power. I get comments all the time about how great the car sounds.

Admit I love my M&K 1 in 1 out, cat-bypass, and SW chip combo - noticeable difference in performance and sound. Not sure @ cat with you, but with my setup, my car is somewhat loud, according to my wife.
To me, I love the sound...It is not so loud in the car, just outside of the car....my neighbors can hear me pretty far coming down the street... if it was much louder (i'm just a street driver), and I'd probably have to consider converting back, as the performance should be pretty close with the stock exhaust.
...but again, I love the aggressive sound myself, and have no plans on going back

Oh, and by the way, I just checked my gas mileage with my setup...I thought I might get poor mileage with the SW chip (maybe telling the DME to push a bunch more gas???)....but guess what? a full tank-use with some pretty agressive driving along the way delivered 21.7mpg....pretty impressive
