SWEPCO!!!!!

If your fluid hadn't been changed in 15 yrs the results probably would have been similar with Valvoline gear lube. I noticed no change whatsoever when I switched from Valvo to Swepco, but I change the fluid every 2 yrs/15k miles.

My tranny shifted like hell when I got it. Some kind of blue synthetic came out when I switched to SWEPCO. Big difference. 915 synchros like a little bit of friction to work well.

JBO: You're exactly right, older Valvoline, Kendall, and even StaLube were all great trans oils. We only sold Kendall at the shop, but had a couple of customers bring us Swepco for their car. No difference, but that was then and this is now.
Corrales, it's funny that you mention the blue stuff (I don't know what it is), but it was in my '82 when I bought the car. I put in Kendall and had a big improvement in shifting almost immediately.
