A couple of the fins in the A/C vents in the center of the dash on my '84 Carrera are broken and are driving me nuts (they rattle like crazy and mar an otherwise very nice interior). I found a good replacement part on eBay that's on the way (the entire "pod" that contains the two vents).
Has anyone removed these on their car before? Are there any tricks to getting these in and out which I should know about? Does the old one just pull straight out of the dash or do I need to get at it from behind? I haven't wanted to pull hard on it for fear of breaking something I'll need to secure the new piece.
Thanks!

From the front there are 4 tabs that you need to depress,--with a fine screwdriver. First of all, get yourself a bright flashlight so you can see what you're doing,--and then look in along the top and bottom. You'll see the tabs. Depress them and then pull it out.
