Ed,

I've missed a few myself without any negative results, how is the car running?

Regards, Dave

Badly

It's very rough, it takes a bit of cranking, 2 or 3 X normal to get enough compression to start. I think it all comes down to how many RPMs the motor sees. In my case, I was approaching redline in 3rd. Going into second at that point, even if I re-engaged the clutch very quickly, could've easily approached 8K, or higher.

As part of your rebuild perhaps a gated shifter like Wevo or Renn-Shift would be a good investment. I use the Renn-shift and It really guides your shift into the intended gear.

That's already at the top of the spreadsheet. Cheap insurance, IMO.

Ed-
Sorry, but I will not be able to attend next saturday since that is the day of the highway 1 Talimena road tour, which I host each year.

Sounds like you've got some good help lined up.

Will watch with interest what you find with the engine teardown.

Good luck!
