Bob,
email me p_kennington@hotmail.com and I'll send you some info. Did you look at the link I posted to the car in Bend? I'm sure you already know this, but a PPI by an independant shop with no prior knowledge of the car is essential. And to echo what Harry said, a well-sorted 915 is a great transmission- I suggest you go drive one if you haven't already.

Good luck with it!

Paul.

This car might fit your bill.

87 with 49k miles for $18k. Nice blue color. If you call and want to get a PPI I reccomend Storz Garage.

No affiliation with seller. Just I browse Craigslist everday. It's an addiction.

I think that would be a good buy if a PPI checks out. Interesting they say it's a '79 in the ad- hopefully a typo.

Cheers,

Paul.

Bob,

I'll throw in a couple of ideas:

1. Take a hard look at your finances and buy the best condition car that you can afford. Extensive, meticulous maintenance (as evidenced by records) will save you lots of money in the future.

2. You will save a few thousand dollars by foing with a 915 trans. car, but will proabably spend that within a couple of years for a trans rebuild.

Don (Just repeating the older 911 mantra heard here often.)
