I am told Ethanol loosens the deposits left in the tank (in this case, not a desirable effect). I am not a chem / petroleum engineer (nor do I play one on TV) so I'm just repeating what I've been told. I've also seen cross-country folk who've gone from non-Ethanol to Ethanol gas, and same-tank had their fuel filters clogged, FWIW.
