well maybe he does have something to be concerned about if he says its too loud. You could have an exhaust leak and I know that those always annoy me. and of course it would not hurt to have those valves redone if it'll make you sleep better at night. I hope you find what's causing this sound.

mine does the same
on cold idle its not really noticeable
when its warmed up the tappit sound is definately has a louder more pronounced charm to it.
