Default Cruse Control on '76 911s

Hey Guys,

My '76 911s has cruse control that quit working years ago and during a partial rebuild ( tensioners amd airbox), I find that the vaccum hose from the control unit is not connected to anything. All the hoses and fittings on the airbox are in place, so where does the hose off the "Y" connector go?

Yhanks,
John

Somehow I recall taht it goes to the airbox,--but it has a been a long time. Type to find a copy of the factory workshop manuals (maybe eBay). They're the only manuals with that sort of detailed information. Is it not working?

Another source of trouble for the early tempostat (cruise control) is found beneath your clutch pedal.

Default Cruise Control

Hey Dan,

You've identified my issue, but where on the air box, is the connection point?

The attachment diagram IS from the manual, but does not show the connection point either.

I was hoping that someone would go out to their garage and look at their 911s, to see where it connects.

How's the Boxter running?

John

I'm sorry that I don't have one from that era any longer. I would do as you suggest--peek in the garage. I had a lot of trouble with my tempostat for my 1977 911S. Ultimately one of the biggest problems was with the clutch cut out switch (which halts the signal to the accelerator when the clutch is depressed). Today, they have completely eliminated that design from the Carreras. I have to reactivate my cabriolet's cruise every time I change a gear.
