I have an ’86 Carrera with the older style headlights. I want to update them to the newer style that became standard in ‘87. Is this called H-4 or Euro? What is needed to do the conversion? I will want the rings painted red, not chrome.
Thanks in advance!

I think your looking for the Euro H-4 conversion lights w/ optional trim rings. This setup will run about the same as the 87-89 US H-5 setup, and many feel the H-4's are a superior light design.

I recently upgraded mine to the euro H-4 design & had a local body shop paint mine guards red to match my paint. He charged me $50 to prime & paint. Lighting is MUCH better and I think it looks better also.

Can anyone post a link or describe how to install the RELAY that you need to run the H-4s? I've got the headlights, but no relay yet. Any photos/ wiring diagrams? Thanks
