Default BACK-UP SWITCH LOCATION

Could someone please tell me where the back-up switch is located on the '84 911 transmission? I got into the habit of parking with the (manual trans.) reverse gear engaged and now that I no longer have back-up lights I think the switch may be jammed/corroded. Good thinking??

The switch is on the nose of the trans, just slightly to the right of center. The car must be raised to access it; it's partially hidden by the trans mount but you can get to it without component removal. The switches do fail, but not often. Parking in reverse may have put enough of an extra load on the switch (it's activated by a steel pin/rod) to hasten its demise (by keeping it in the activated mode even though no power was going through it when the car was shut off). Don't go under the car unless it's supported safely by jack stands, blocks or other safety devices!
