Question Dead air compressor

Playing around with all the "stuff" that came with my new (to me) '87 Carrera...the air compressor is totally silent when plugged to lighter socket. Is there a secret? Is there a fuse to check? Thanks for ideas.

Um...yes, so does mine. Unfortunately, the switch position makes no difference!

Burt,

To rule out malfunction of your Porsche's cigar lighter, I would suggest trying your compressor in another car. If it works, then you can replace the appropriate fuse in your Carrera. If the compressor still won't work, (viz., in the other car), you can purchase a new one through any Porsche dealer and most of the Porsche parts suppliers for about $40.

Those compressors are really handy and I wouldn't be without one in my Porsche.

Good luck.
