Post GOTTI Wheels

I have original (optional) Gotti 2?/3? piece 5 spoke wheels on my 78 SC.
When I retired recently I could not see and obvious join in the rim, leading me to think they are 2 piece (is there such a thing).
I read an article (way back when, and i have forgotten where) about rebuilding these wheels, which i am planning to do.
I want to polish the rim and have the centres re-sprayed, but am concerned at the bolts (16 per wheel) that hold the rim to the hub. The article I read (by someone doing the same as I plan) mentioned that numerous of these bolts needed replacement.
My questions are,
Does anyone have a spec for these bolts?, though i would prefer bolts with a smaller external profile - allowing for easier cleaning.
Can I use SS bolts on these Aluminum wheels?
The bolts currently have approx. 1/4" thick washer - can i reduce this?
The rims are in fairly good condition, but the hubs (i think they were clear-coated) what is the best method to clean of paint/clear-coat, are paint strippers to be avoided?
TIA

Glen,

This may be the article you're thinking of: http://www.tech-session.com/Paragon/..._resealing.htm Skip at Paragon Products may be able to help answer your questions - he wrote the article in the link above.

Hey Bill,

Thanks for the lead, this is the article I was think of, now all I need to do is stop driving the car long enough to do the work - I hate to drive anything else (life is to short).
