Porsche Newbie

So I have figgered out that apparently my car has no additional oil sump sreen.. just one that is connected to the oil pump.. do I need this other oil screen? Also this screen is kinda beat up..is this major?

I got the chunks of debris out of the existing screen with a toothbrush and some brake cleaner..
