For what it's worth, the factory 911 external thermostat also functions as a pressure regulator. In the event that pressure gets too great in the cooling circuit, the thermostat will close to avoid starving the motor of oil. I think the only aftermarket external thermostat with this capability is the Troutman.

I did a few internet searches for the troutman thermostat and came up empty. Any idea where I can get them?
